The Narwhal Rainbow Alliance is a foundation dedicated to protecting biodiversity and promoting diversity, with a special focus on telling the stories of the LGBTQ+ community in nature. We connect scientific research on diversity in mating strategies with education and awareness to foster a more inclusive world, for both people and nature. We collaborate with national parks, zoos, and educational institutions to widely promote this message.
 

Job Description

As a board member of the Narwhal Rainbow Alliance, you will be responsible for helping shape the direction and strategy of the foundation. You will work closely with a passionate team of diversity and nature experts to strengthen the foundation’s mission, ensuring sustainable growth and impact. Your role will involve advising on policy development, fundraising, and partnerships, while representing the foundation in external engagements.

 

Responsibilities

• Actively contribute to the development of the foundation’s vision and strategy.

• Oversee the financial health and annual budget of the foundation.

• Maintain and expand relationships with partners, sponsors, and other stakeholders.

• Assist with fundraising and organizing campaigns and events.

• Participate in board meetings (approximately 4 times a year) and be actively involved in the foundation’s projects and activities.

• Represent the Narwhal Rainbow Alliance at external events and meetings.
   

We are looking for

• Someone with a strong affinity for biodiversity and diversity, particularly regarding LGBTQ+ topics.

• Experience within foundations, NGOs, or other non-profit organizations is a plus.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.

• A strategic thinker with a hands-on mentality, willing to commit to the foundation long-term.

• Knowledge of fundraising and financial planning is an asset.

• A network in the nature conservation or LGBTQ+ sectors is a bonus but not required
